Big News!

It has been a dream of mine for years to have my own clinic space where we can deliver ABA therapy to our learners in a safe, warm, inviting, and productive environment. It brings me so much joy to announce that Learning Beyond The Spectrum is moving to a clinic in June! We are going to begin providing in-person services at our clinic space where our learners can continue to have their own dedicated behavior technician, plus a BCBA on site while sessions are in progress.

Our clinic will provide an intensive pre-k setting where our under 5 learners will learn the skills needed to be successful in kindergarten, social skills groups where our older learners can come together to work on essential social and problem solving skills in the afternoons, and we are looking forward to being fully staffed over the summer so our learners who are unable to access summer camps independently can have somewhere to go each day to maintain progress and a daily routine while school isn’t in session.

What is so great about clinic-based ABA? In a study published by the National Institute of Health, researchers controlled for individual differences by comparing and contrasting at-home and clinic-based ABA therapy treatment for the same kids. What they found was that kids demonstrated far higher rates of learning during treatment provided in-clinic compared to in the patient’s home. In fact, they mastered 100% more skills per hour while receiving in-clinic treatment compared to home-based treatment. You can access this study here:

It is so wonderful to be able to make this jump and to be able to provide even better services for the community. In the meantime I will be obsessively planning and decorating making sure this program is the best that it can be, and fun for all involved!
